Madeleine is a certified STOTT Pilates instructor, Matwork (Essential–Advanced). She offers both private and group classes. STOTT Pilates
“Pilates is the art of sculpting and strengthening our bodies, in a safe way; it’s gentle on the joints and muscles. We work the muscles dynamically (as opposed to static), with focus on movement control and our breathing.
Pilates is exercise that is efficient and smart, we work the whole body in every class (as opposed to only one part of the body/muscle group). We strengthen our muscles, improve our coordination and balance, as well as increase our mobility. Focus on the technique, initiation and action of a movement, makes Pilates something that efficiently works the target muscle(s) and helps your brain to connect with the body. It really is a great work-out as everyone (almost) can do it, and it’s individually adaptable!
Since I was 10 years old, Pilates has been part of my training in ballet school. We were doing the exercises without even knowing it was Pilates! It is essential for a ballet dancer, as we need a strong core and be able to activate all muscles consciously.
In 2014, I did my course and became a certified STOTT Pilates Instructor. I worked as a Pilates instructor at Balance in Stockholm, Sweden, before moving abroad again.
Moving our bodies should be part of our daily lives, not to see it as a hasslesome and difficult work-out, but rather as something essential to keep our bodies and minds healthy and well. Extra important now that many of us are working from home, alone at our desks or with many family members surrounding us.
I love Pilates and I would like you to share my passion for it! Get in touch to join a group or private mat class.”
